Honoring the Memory of Ron Mix

This site honors the memory of Ron Mix of Edmonton, Alberta and Kenner, Louisiana. Ron was tragically killed in an industrial accident near New Orleans on Friday, December 16, 2005.

Ron Mix was a remarkable man. For one thing, he was a force of nature -- a hands-on, get-the-job-done kind of guy. He was a man who, when necessary, invented the tools he needed to conduct his very specialized work in the oilfield. He was also the kind of guy who stitched up his own hand with needle and thread a few years ago because he couldn't be bothered sitting around a hospital for a few hours waiting for stitches. He started numerous business, including Crown Video and Mix Tank Services.

But more than that, Ron was man for whom faith and family were his highest callings. He and his wife June raised five children, and they were key supporters of numerous Christian organizations over the years: Far East Broadcasting, the Gideons, The Christian & Missionary Alliance, and many others. As founder and president of Crown Video, he was also instrumental in several film projects, notably From One Blood. Ron was also politically active, and nearly became a Member of Parliament for the constituency of Edmonton North in 1993 (he lost the election by 83 votes).

We remember and honor the memory of Ron Mix, and offer the family our prayers and deepest sympathies.
